Government IT Sucks

Just arrived at home after meeting with some Government agency today, and I proudly say their IT Department Sucks.

In the meeting the Guy was showing me some documents in his PC, which had windows 7 loaded. He had IE9 pinned in his bar, there were few desktop icons of Firefox and Chrome but after showing me some page he used to hit the X(close) button to quit the IE and again hit the pinned icon to start new window again and type some URL . At first I thought may be IE (as always) hanged and he just restarted the browser, but after sometime I realized he didn't know about tabbed browsing. He was saying the computers just got upgraded and he is still getting familiar with things. With his way of using Browser, without any doubt the Government agency might had Windows XP with IE6 before upgrade. That means the systems in Government agencies get upgraded once in 10 years.

The way he hit pinned IE was pinching my heart, I was asking to myself why don't he just use Firefox or Chrome as they were also installed in the system, but then he was showing me with pride in IE that the websites he usually visits are kept as favorite and with just one click he can visit the site. In other word he mean to say Bookmarking, I wonder if he'd love the Speed dial Chrome offers.

He showed me new Microsoft office package and that was MS 2007, and opened the Calendar system to book another meeting with me. The way he presented me the IT things that they use, I felt they were already 5-6 years behind from now and as he said the computers just got upgraded, that means Government agencies are not up-to-date in terms of technology, but the question is when they are upgrading the system anyhow why still upgrade with old software? Doesn't upgrading means to have something new ? He just uses what is presented/available to him, but the IT department should really feel ashamed that they upgrade the system in today's world with 5 years old software.

Buddha was not Born in Nepal

I keep getting this facebook Pages suggestion and requests of petition from People saying Buddha was born in Nepal, Buddha was born in India, etc. and hell lotza comments about people swearing at each other. This bullshits made me to rant about it.

The keyboard war among Nepalese and Indians raise the flame, Nepalese claiming Buddha was born in Nepal, Indians claiming Buddha was born in India or Nepal was once part of India, whatever it is, I feel this as very disgusting topic to start the war.

The scientists say, Buddha was born around 2500-2600 years ago, and at that era there was NO any country called Nepal or India. There were small kingdoms ruled by Kings, in-fact Buddha was born in Royal family itself. I have never heard the Whole India being rules by single King, and Unification of Nepal was started some 200 years ago, Now who is right. Mother-fuckers both are wrong, and trying to convince each other by saying I am right and you are wrong. Stop Bullshitting yourself and do something productive.

If you start realizing Why Buddha Was Born instead of Where Buddha was Born then you'd realize that you all are fooling yourself. Buddha's message was to spread Peace, and these two people are fighting National Keyboard War. If you look at the countries too, then both of these countries are good exam which lacks Peace. Nepal is highly corrupt and has internal war among people, whereas India have never been peaceful since Poms left them.

Wherever Buddha was born, How ever Buddha was born, To Whomever Buddha was born is not the main focus why Buddha was born. He was born to spread Peace and teach people the Art of Peaceful Living, and this keyboard war shows you are far from understanding the message from Buddha. You should really feel shameful to fight for the person whose whole life was dedicated to spread message of peace.

Peace on you.

LinkedIn Sucks

LinkedIn really sucks. Do you have a professional linkedin profile and you think it sucks, we are in the same league. Its good to have a professional profile in linkedin but the service they provide really sucks.

The concept of use of LinkedIn might have changed in recent years too, as it is viewed more of a job hunting or recruiting platform rather than just social professional profile. Since I made a linkedin profile I have been getting this unwanted contact request, messages from recruiters looking to fill some positions, etc.

Privacy is the main concern in LinkedIn, I have been maintaining my privacy to the utmost, still in FREE profile, the service ridiculously sucks. It might be different in premium membership, I haven't used it, but for free members it keeps on asking you to upgrade in every step while browsing the site.

10 people visited your profile in 7 days, please upgrade to see all.

Whenever I log in to see my profile, the message at top comes, This person has this skills, do you want to endorse them ? fuck no, I don't even know the person.

All the bloody recruiters wants to add me and advertise for same job postings, some even sends messages saying am I interested ? Do they even know that I am working ?

LinkedIn today at home page was enough, but look at the quality of posts, OMFG that sucks.

Now linkedIn forces sponsored posts for free account holders, common have some common sense, you want to make money doesn't mean load bullshits in our content. Learn at-least something from facebook.

I have disabled receiving emails from LinkedIn, still I receive weekly email saying this and that company has vacancy that I might be interested in. Seriously, does anyone do job hunting via linkedIn? If so, then Good Luck, but your better bet would be indeed.com
